You know that TV show “I Love Dick,” about a preternaturally charming professor. True story, that was based on my French theory professor from undergrad, Sylvère Lotringer. Well… Professor Lotringer, among many other winning idiosyncrasies, had a postcard, as I remember it, on the outside of his office door. It said “Je suis plus radical que toi.” I thought it was funny at the time. Then, in a much more innocent time, it lacked the overtones it takes on now.
